1. Realistic training.
The LIVE FIRE INTERACTIVE™ training is as realistic as it gets. Officers use their own firearms with live ammunition. They will be facing a huge 7’x11’ screen that the suspect will appear on with a live background projected behind them. Since this is a live image of an trainer, the suspect is able to move around for realism. The officer and suspect can then engage in dialogue through a wireless audio system. As the scenario progresses the interaction between the officer and suspect will dictate when, and if, a shooting will occur.
2. Stress induced training.
By using the LIVE FIRE INTERACTIVE™ system, officers will be faced with extremely realistic, high stress, scenarios. Through training with stressful encounters, the officer will develop a higher tolerance for stress, subsequently allowing them to perform better during real life situations.
3. Decision making during training.
This involves shoot/don’t shoot scenarios. These training exercises are vital as they force the officer to make a decision in a matter of seconds. With LIVE FIRE INTERACTIVE™, officers are given the training to quickly assess deadly force situations and react appropriately within the police department’s guidelines. These decision-making skills must be taught so officers respond with the correct level of force during critical encounters!
